artesaniauruguay.uy is the first digital platform fully dedicated to promoting the work of Uruguayan artisans. Commissioned by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining (MIEM) through its National Directorate of Crafts, the project was developed from scratch, covering the entire process—from research and UX/UI design to prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
The interface was custom designed in Sketch App for mobile, desktop, and tablet, applying responsive design principles within a 12-column grid system. The implementation was carried out by a team of four developers, using Node.js and the Strapi CMS, an open-source solution suitable for public sector use.
The platform functions as a flexible information container, designed to scale and evolve, and integrates tools such as Google Analytics for usage tracking. The result is a robust, accessible, and adaptable public tool that supports and promotes Uruguay’s craft sector through a clean, well-structured, and contemporary digital experience.
